Acquisitions Assistant

As the Acquisition and Distribution Coordinator it will be your responsibility to support the Founder | President in finding new films, cold calling filmmakers and assisting in signing new films to be distributed and sold around the world. This is a demanding position that requires firm attention to detail and tracking of projects HOP has interest in acquiring. 



  • Coordinate scheduling

  • Creating strategy packets

  • Sending emails to filmmakers inquiring about their film

  • Searching through IMDB daily for new titles to acquire

  • Client general maintenance

  • Reviewing license agreements and making notes

  • Setting | Coordinating calls and meetings with filmmakers

  • Coordinating travel arrangements

  • General Research

  • Filling in forms and placing orders for new title onboarding 

  • Cold calling filmmakers to inquire about their film. 

  • Rarely, but on occasion you will be required to travel out of the state to California


  • Proven experience as an assistant or similar role

  • Strong command of self intelligence

  • Proficient with software applications such as Work, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, web conferencing

  • In-depth knowledge of the film acquisition process as well as technical vocabulary of relevant industry

  • Familiarity with basic research methods and reporting techniques

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities

  • Discretion, loyalty, integrity, and confidentiality

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • High School degree or GED
